Catching Up - December Part 1

Marcus and I got back from our trip on the 19th, and really didn't do much for the rest of November.  We did host Thanksgiving dinner, but I don't have any pictures of that day.  All that I remember from that day was Marcus was sick and throwing up the whole time.  That's probably why I didn't take any pictures.

In the first few weeks of December, we did a lot of Christmas stuff.  We met Santa Claus a lot.

When we got back from our trip, Marcus was trying to get on the couch a lot and so I decided he needed his own chair.  I went everywhere looking for one, but never saw anything I liked, until I went to our thrift shop.  Of course, I found the perfect chair there (it has Elmo on it) for $5.

Marcus still loves this chair.
Notice the remote control on the floor.

He was watching The O'Reilly Factor.
I think that's his favorite show, that's the only one he'll sit in the chair and watch for an extended period of time.
The first Santa we got to meet was on the 1st of December.  We even got to meet Mrs. Claus too.

Marcus finally calmed down with a little help from some sleigh bells after a screaming fit.

On the 3rd of December, we were treated to a free Hawaiian Christmas Concert and Dinner through the Blue Star Card program.  This program is for families of deployed soldiers and whenever we're out doing something fun, it's usually because of them.  Santa brought a toy for each of the kids attending the dinner and we were treated to a concert by the Kamehameha Schools Alumni Choir.

The next night, the Blue Star Program was providing transportation down to Honolulu City Lights.  This is the annual tree-lighting ceremony and Christmas parade for Honolulu.  They also had rides there, so that's where we spent most of our time.

Marcus' first ride on a school bus.
I wasn't sure how it would go, but he did alright

This is our friend Chantal.
I don't talk about her on the blog much, but she is with us all of the time.
She helps me out a lot with Marcus, like going on rides with him.

Yay, another carousel!

Honolulu's Santa.  He's somewhat of a landmark here.
The last Christmas event we went to was the Schofield Barracks Tree Lighting Ceremony.  The pictures are pretty bad, but I've included one anyway.

The next Santa was found at the Haleiwa Farmer's Market.  Marcus actually met this Santa last year too, so I've included a comparison picture.

The next post will be the second half of December, including Christmas.
