Makapu'u Lighthouse and Haleiwa Beach

On Saturday, we decided to go on a hike with Marcus and Kimber.  This was the first time for Marcus in the backpack, so it was a new view for him.  I think he enjoyed it, he got to kick Eric in the butt the whole time.  This is a picture of Eric, Marcus and Kimber at the beginning of the hike.  The picture below is at the top with the lighthouse in the background.

After we finished the hike, we went to Whole Foods for lunch and Great Harvest Bread Company for some wonderful bread.  We then treated Kimber to a day at the dog beach.  She had a blast playing with the other dogs.  Normally she spends most of the time trying to get as far away from the water as possible, but this time we found a beach on Hickam AFB that doesn't have any waves and she loved it.  I think she must be afraid of waves.  She even went swimming for a part of the time.

On Monday, we drove up to the north shore to get some Matsumoto's shave ice and hang out at Haleiwa Beach Park.  We had the beach all to ourselves, it was awesome.  Marcus even got to try shave ice for the first time.
