We went down to the Hale Koa today to hang out at the pool. We decided to take Marcus for a swim and he loved it.

Marcus' laptop
Eric got tired of Marcus banging his hand on his laptop, so I got him his own. It was only $3 at the thrift shop and it actually has a lot of activities that he can do when he gets older. Right now, he just bangs on the keyboard, but it saves Eric's laptop the beating.

Makapu'u Lighthouse and Haleiwa Beach
On Saturday, we decided to go on a hike with Marcus and Kimber. This was the first time for Marcus in the backpack, so it was a new view for him. I think he enjoyed it, he got to kick Eric in the butt the whole time. This is a picture of Eric, Marcus and Kimber at the beginning of the hike. The picture below is at the top with the lighthouse in the background.
After we finished the hike, we went to Whole Foods for lunch and Great Harvest Bread Company for some wonderful bread. We then treated Kimber to a day at the dog beach. She had a blast playing with the other dogs. Normally she spends most of the time trying to get as far away from the water as possible, but this time we found a beach on Hickam AFB that doesn't have any waves and she loved it. I think she must be afraid of waves. She even went swimming for a part of the time.
On Monday, we drove up to the north shore to get some Matsumoto's shave ice and hang out at Haleiwa Beach Park. We had the beach all to ourselves, it was awesome. Marcus even got to try shave ice for the first time.

Eric's Promotion
Eric was promoted to Captain yesterday. It was backdated to March 23rd, so we have some back-pay coming, but the ceremony was held yesterday morning. Here are a few pictures. We have some better ones coming, but these are what our neighbor Heather took for us.

6 month Marcus
NTC
I found Marcus like this on afternoon, just fell asleep on his own.
A beautiful view of the Mojave Desert on the bus ride out of Ft. Irwin.
This is what happens to the cover of the bed of truck when winds are up around 50 mph.
Side view.
My desk in the "box" at Ft. Irwin with dust all over the ground to make it cozy.
This is what happens to plastic porta-potties in high winds.
