Marcus' Birthday

This birthday present for Lauren showed up a little late,
but they sure didn't care!
Marcus' birthday cake

The last weekend before Grandma and Grandpa A left was spent showing them Schweinfurt.

Having beers (and dinner) at the Schiess Haus.
The kids riding a horse tree.
Walking along the Main River.
Taking a cruise along the river.

Prague Day 3

The last day of our trip to Prague was actually spent in Pilsen, the home of Pilsner Urquell, and Pilsner beer in general. It was a great place to spend the rest of our Czech Krones before leaving the country.

Prague Day 2

Our second full day in Prague led us to old town and spending some time in the Jewish Quarter.

The St. Charles Bridge
Every 30 meters along the bridge are religious statues. The two below were my favorite.  They're actually in the process of restoring them one by one, so some of them are really grimy and some of them look brand new.

Our attempt at a family photo.  Marcus was not happy about it.
A cemetery in the Jewish Quarter.
Checking out some painted eggs and just letting the kids be kids
while we let the adults check out Church of Our Lady of Tyn.
After spending most of the day walking around Old Town and getting naps back at the apartment, we headed to the Petrin Tower. This is basically Prague's version of the Eiffel Tower.
The boys riding the tram to the base of the tower.
The girls!
Most of the family (somebody had to take the picture).
The Petrin Tower
The Prague Castle and St. Vitus Cathedral from the tower.
Daddy and Dominic

Grandma and Marcus stopped for a break on a bench halfway up.

Making sure Lauren was still back there.
An accidental family picture at the top. I was actually just trying to get a panoramic shot when everybody stopped and posed.
The track we rode to get to the tower.

Prague Day 1

Dinner on the day we arrived.  I want to say it was our best meal there.
(I think one of the boys took this picture.)
The US Embassy
The building on the right was our apartment.  It's owned by the Embassy.
The ground floor was a wine bar and our apartment was on the 3rd floor.
Prague Castle
The entrance to the castle grounds
The guard at the entrance to Prague Castle
St. Vitus Cathedral, inside the Prague Castle walls

The back of St. Vitus
I think they're looking at a fountain,
but Dominic is also playing with the new coins he got that morning.
Dominic with his hero at the toy museum
Darth Vader at the toy museum
The Astronomical Clock
Video of the Astronomical Clock
Eating at a cool train restaurant.
The trains delivered all of the beers to the table.

While we were in Paris

The reason we were able to get away to Paris was my parents offered to watch the kids when they came to visit.  They took them to Marchenwald and Playmobil FunPark while we were away. Thanks for keeping our kiddos safe!!

Grandpa and the kids outside of Marchenwald.

Grandma and the kids enjoying some motorcycles

Flying with Mickey

Riding in her first bumper car with Grandpa

Captaining the pirate ship

Lauren started walking

So while we were in Paris, Lauren was figuring out the whole walking thing. She waited until we got home to show us her first steps. It was very nice of her.
